Coach Emily has been with Westmoreland Elite since the 2023-2024 season. Emily graduated from Brownsville Area High School in 2011 where she was 4-year letter winner, All Section and All County team member in volleyball. After high school Emily attended Penn State Fayette to major in Business and continue playing volleyball. From 2011-2014 the volleyball team did not drop a conference match and won 4 straight PSUAC championships. While at Penn State Fayette Emily was selected to the First Team All PSUAC for 3 years, PSUAC Setter of the Year, and the PSUAC Player of the Year for 2. Emily was also selected as a USCAA First Team All American, USCAA Academic All American and was named the USCAA Student Athlete of the Year in 2014. Emily still holds the all-time assist record at Penn State Fayette with over 2000 career assists.
Emily began her coaching career while still in high school for her club, Penn Highlands, as a youth league coach in 2011. From 2011-2020 Emily coached a number of age groups for the club while holding other roles such as Youth League Coordinator, Board Member, and in her final two years Club Director. Emily also coached high school from 2015-2021. She first made a return to her alma matter Brownsville before moving to Laurel Highlands and finally Riverview with all teams making the WPIAL playoff appearances and a few as sections champions.
Emily has worked for PNC since she graduated college and is now living in Penn Hills with her husband, Dan. She has always had the volleyball bug and loved being in the gym even as a teenager. While she still plays in pickup leagues, Coach Emily loves coaching volleyball as another way to still be around the game and share her knowledge while also learning from the players as well! Her favorite volleyball memory is all of the trips up State College to play in Rec Hall for the championships. Coach Emily's one piece of advice she would give out to West E players is to stay positive and have fun!
